As the sufferings, grievances of the plot cases targeted Islamic NGOs like Elazığ İhya Der and Adıyaman Vahdet-Der are still fresh in the minds, Islamic NGOs operating in Adana province face a similar injustice.

After a juridical plot on January 14th, 2010, Malatya High Criminal Court sentenced members and administrators of Elazığ İhya-Der for 150 years. And this decree was upheld by Supreme Courts. After a legislative regulation, the defendants demanded a retrial and then all acquitted from all indictments.

“While society expects justice to be maintained…”

While whole society is expecting justice to be maintained, impartial justice and equality in the courts, an event has emerged that ruined all hopes. Another juridical plot is on the way against some Islamic NGOs operating in Adana.

“Legal activities regarded as crime in the past, too”

As it is remembered just last year Adana 5th High Criminal Court sentenced some 24 NGOs’ members to 115 years. It is always known that all legal Islamic activities are being monitored by some sort of cliques. These cliques, who cannot find any crime factors in these activities, try to file lawsuits against all these activities, which are all approved by legal authorities.

“Untrue e-mails considered as denouncements”

A new claim against 12 members of NGOs filed as being a part of illegal organization. In the case file, accepted by Adana 2nd High Criminal Court, the untrue e-mails sent to police department are considered as denouncements. The Holy Birth events, helping activities, social-cultural activities and even press conferences are all qualified as crime elements.

“While the victims of PKK attacks are innocent, they treated as criminals”

The scale of the attacks targeted Islamic NGOs were so wide that, when pro PKK mobs stir up troubles in Adana streets, where they arson the shops, sidewalks, street lamps and houses, the members and volunteers of Islamic NGOs were taken under custody and treated as criminals.

“Endeavoring to reach aids to Syrian refugees is a crime”

Oddly, all efforts such as having contacts and organizing the relief supply kits to reach the aids to nearly 3 million Syrian refugees, who seek asylum in Turkey, is considered as crimes in the indictment prepared by public prosecution office. These all activities aim to extend a helping hand to the Syrians in Turkey, that is also done by state and other NGOs, performed by Adana Islamic NGOs are determined as crime elements in the indictment.

“The court tries to bloat up the file with nonsense allegations”

Indicating that the court demanded all lawsuit files against other NGOs, lawyer Mustafa Yavuz said that the court tries to bloat up the case file with nonsense allegations. Expressing that a similar lawless probe launched against UMUT-DER, which draws public attention with its great aid campaigns, Yavuz said: “With these methods, Association members were sentenced more than to 100 years in total.

Underlined that the juridical problems that came to public attention after the case about MIT (National Intelligence Service) trucks and still remain unsolved, Yavuz pointed that a similar process is now on its way in Adana again. Yavuz added that: “even though the Elazığ İhya-Der case was returned by Supreme Court demanding the acquaintance of the defendants, the local public prosecution office held the case to the contrary of the Supreme Courts decree intending to sentence the defendants again.”

The case is going to be held on 27th September 2016, at Adana 2nd High Criminal Court. (ILKHA)
