Imam Khomeini, who was interred in a funereal procession in which millions of people attended when he passed away on June 3, 1989, has been being marked for 27 years in various ceremonies.

Being indicated that his revolutionary character was his prominent feature of his personality, he is remembered with his Islamic Revolution that he realised it uncompromising attitude against imperialists and their local collaborators.

Leading the oppressed, Imam Khomeini uttered “neither Sunnism nor Shi’ism but unification of Islam” slogan to underline the real goal is not exalting any denominations but Islam itself.

Being a precious example for oppressed people with his great struggle against tyrants and cruel oppressors, Imam Khomeini emphasized the highness of an Islamic struggle that is a divine cause higher than any denomination, ideology or ethnical strife that can never display a universal stance when comparing to Islamic cause.

His greatest target was to topple the tyrants and establish a world for the pride of the oppressed nations based on; freedom, equality and justice.

Defining the war between truth and falsehood, Imam didn’t only prove that this war in fact between tyrants and the oppressed but introduced their tangible examples to the world.

Pointing out the fact that the biggest enemies of humanity are ‘Great Satan America and deforciant Israel ‘ that rule the world in the guise of imperialism and Zionism, Imam underlined that salvation of Islamic Ummah can be possible only if these two bloody hands are cut.

Placing great importance on Palestine and Holy Quds cause, Imam Khomeini highlighted and urged Muslims to advance a common struggle for this sake.

On June 3rd, 1989, closed his eyes to the world, Imam Khomeini is, notably in Iran, being marked with ceremonies in many countries. (ILKHA)
