UN spokesman Stéphane Dujarric addressed the media, stating: "These developments are extremely concerning, especially given that this is taking place within a context that is extremely volatile." He acknowledged that the UN has limited information beyond what has been reported in the media but condemned the civilian casualties resulting from the blasts.

The detonations, which occurred simultaneously in Beirut and other parts of Lebanon, have raised alarms in a region already strained by ongoing tensions. Local Lebanese authorities have described the explosions as an act of "Israeli aggression."

Lebanese Resistance group Hezbollah confirmed that two of its members were among those killed in the blasts, with several others injured. The Lebanese government has condemned the explosions, adding further tension to the already fraught geopolitical situation in the region.

The UN continues to monitor the situation closely, though details remain sparse as the investigation unfolds. (ILKHA)
