Upon receiving information about the presence of irregular migrants in life rafts stranded off the coasts of Aydın and Muğla, Coast Guard boats were quickly dispatched to the affected areas.

The migrants, who had been pushed back into Turkish territorial waters by Greek forces, were safely brought ashore by the vigilant efforts of the Turkish Coast Guard.

A further 37 irregular migrants were intercepted off the coast of the Seferihisar district of Izmir.

Following the rescue operations, all irregular migrants were transferred to the Provincial Directorate of Migration Management to undergo the necessary procedures.

This incident highlights the ongoing challenges and human rights concerns related to irregular migration in the region, and calls on the Turkish authorities to take immediate action to ensure the safety and well-being of those affected. (ILKHA)
