This action is being framed as the first retaliatory measure in response to what is described as the American terrorist army's attack on Yemeni forces.
Saree revealed in a statement on Wednesday that the targeted American ship was allegedly providing support to the zionist regime. The attack reportedly involved a significant number of ballistic missiles and drones, carried out through a joint operation involving Yemen's navy, missile, and drone units.
In his statement, Saree emphasized the Yemeni armed forces' commitment to defending the country, the nation, and the broader Islamic Ummah. He stated: "We will not hesitate to confront hostile threats in line with our right to legitimate defense."
Additionally, Saree declared an ongoing strategy to prevent the movement of Israeli ships or vessels heading to the occupied territories. This embargo is asserted to continue until the cessation of the conflict in Gaza and the lifting of the siege on Gaza residents.
The Yemeni military spokesman clarified that, except for ships heading towards occupied Palestinian ports, the Yemeni army would permit the passage of other ships in international waters in the Red and Arab seas.
Highlighting the targeted American ship as the initial reaction to what was termed the "brutal attack" by the American enemy on Yemen's navy, the situation underscores the heightened tensions in the region and the complex geopolitical dynamics at play. (ILKHA)
