The blast occurred in the Bajaur district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, where an improvised explosive device (IED) targeted a police truck carrying officers on anti-polio campaign duty.

Caretaker Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Arshad Hussain Shah condemned the attack and expressed his condolences for the “martyrdom of police officials.” He vowed that “the police morale would not be defeated by such cowardly incidents.”

The attack highlights the challenges faced by polio workers in conflict-prone regions as they strive to carry out crucial vaccination campaigns amid security threats. (ILKHA)
