The operation was initiated following information about migrants in life rafts off the coasts of Izmir, Aydın, and Muğla.
Upon receiving the alert, Coast Guard boats were swiftly deployed to the respective regions, where they safely brought ashore the 158 irregular migrants who had faced pushback from Greek forces. Additionally, 86 irregular migrants were apprehended off the coast of Izmir and Aydın.
Following standard procedures, the rescued irregular migrants were transferred to the Provincial Directorate of Migration Management for further processing and assistance.
The Turkish Coast Guard continues to actively monitor and respond to incidents involving migrants along the country's coastline. (ILKHA)
