The Air Force provided details on the locations of drone destruction, highlighting successful defenses in Odesa, Kherson, Mykolaiv, Donetsk, Kirovohrad, and Khmelnytskyi oblasts.
Odesa Oblast witnessed the highest number of downed drones, with 17 destroyed by air defenses. Unfortunately, the debris damaged Odesa's port infrastructure, as well as an abandoned administrative building and warehouses in the Rozdilnianskyi district. In Kherson Oblast, the attack caused a fire in warehouses in the Beryslav district, which has since been extinguished.
The Khmelnytskyi Oblast Military Administration reported that one drone was successfully downed in the western region, resulting in no casualties or damage.
Aside from the drones, Russia launched a Kh-59 missile towards Kropyvnytskyi, the regional capital of Kirovohrad Oblast, and a Kh-31P anti-radar missile aimed at Chornomorsk, Odesa Oblast.
In a separate incident, the Ukrainian Air Force confirmed the downing of a Russian Su-30 fighter jet over the Black Sea on December 24. The fate of the aircraft had been uncertain earlier.
On the same day, Ukrainian forces successfully downed a Russian Su-34 fighter-bomber jet near the occupied Mariupol in Donetsk Oblast, as stated by Air Force Commander Mykola Oleshchuk on Sunday. (ILKHA)
