UN Official: Aid entering Gaza "a drop in the ocean" compared to needs

Juliette Touma, a representative of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), has expressed concerns over the insufficiency of aid reaching Gaza through the recently opened Rafah border crossing.

While the crossing has allowed some aid to enter Gaza, Touma emphasized that the current aid is far from meeting the region's extensive needs.

Touma highlighted the necessity of a consistent and substantial flow of humanitarian aid to adequately address the dire conditions in Gaza, stating: "The trucks that are currently passing through will be a drop in the ocean. What the civilians in Gaza need is a steady flow of humanitarian aid." (ILKHA)
