In Yen Bai province, three individuals lost their lives due to landslides, with 379 houses severely damaged, and nearly 91 hectares of agricultural land adversely affected. The estimated cost of the overall damage exceeded 5.4 billion VND (approximately 221,600 USD).
Lao Cai province witnessed heavy rains causing damage to houses, crops, and triggering landslides. Landslides along the Hanoi-Lao Cai railway led to the temporary suspension of all train operations on the route.
In Thai Nguyen province, one person remains missing, according to local sources.
The National Centre for Hydro-Meteorological Forecast predicts continued heavy rains in central localities from Thanh Hoa to Quang Binh from October 10-11.
From October 9-16, the forecast includes rains in the central and southern parts of the central region, Central Highlands, and the southern region.
Some areas are expected to experience particularly heavy rains in the afternoon and evening.
