Under the terms of the agreement, Türkiye will export a daily volume of 2 million cubic meters of natural gas to Moldova, enhancing the energy supply security of the Moldovan nation.
The deal was formalized in a signing ceremony attended by BOTAS Chairman and General Manager, Burhan Ozcan, and East Gas Energy Trading Company General Manager, Nicolai Gaborak, on Thursday.
In a press release, BOTAS emphasized its commitment to bolstering Europe's energy supply security through a series of export agreements. The corporation has been actively engaging with neighboring countries, including Greece, Bulgaria, Hungary, and Romania, to ensure a consistent flow of natural gas in recent months.
"BOTAS continues to make new export agreements by taking advantage of its infrastructure investments, advanced transmission system, geographical location, and the advantages provided by this strong infrastructure," stated the company.
This latest agreement underscores Türkiye's role as a key player in the energy landscape, facilitating the flow of natural gas to nations in need and contributing to regional energy stability.
As the implementation of this agreement begins on October 1, it marks a significant milestone in the energy cooperation between Türkiye and Moldova. (ILKHA)
