The migrants were stranded in the Aegean Sea near the Bodrum district of Muğla province in southwestern Türkiye.

The Turkish Coast Guard has significantly increased its patrols in the Aegean Sea in recent months in response to the rising number of irregular migrants attempting the perilous journey from Türkiye to Greece. This effort has resulted in the successful rescue of thousands of migrants and the apprehension of thousands more attempting the dangerous voyage.

Türkiye strongly condemns Greece's alleged practice of pushing back irregular migrants into its waters, arguing that such actions are not only illegal but also endanger the lives of vulnerable individuals seeking better opportunities across borders.

The migrants rescued on Wednesday were taken to the provincial migration office for processing, where their circumstances will be assessed, and necessary support and assistance will be provided as part of standard procedures. (ILKHA)
