Ehsanullah Wasiq, Secretary of the Land Grab Prevention Commission, stated that they have assessed over 790 million acres of land so far. He also mentioned that the long-stalled Kabul New City project will commence soon, as obstacles posed by land grabbers have been cleared.
Wasiq expressed confidence in the opening of the Kabul New City project, with companies ready to begin work and equipment already transferred to the site. The commission has entrusted the case of the Ainu Mina township in Kandahar to a special court in the province for further action.
Moreover, the commission has identified more than 41,000 acres of usurped land in Kabul, and the process of reclaiming it will soon begin. Looking ahead, the commission aims to reclaim a total of three million acres of land by the end of this year. They plan to review all townships built on government land in the future to ensure compliance with land ownership regulations. (ILKHA)
