The meeting took place at the presidential complex and no further details were disclosed about the discussions that occurred behind closed doors.
Prior to this, Wang Yi, who also holds a position in the political bureau of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, had a meeting with his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan.
Their discussions focused on various matters, including bilateral relations, as well as regional and international issues.
Notably, on Tuesday, China made changes to its Foreign Ministry by removing Foreign Minister Qin Gang, who had not been seen in public for a month, and reinstated Wang Yi as the country's top diplomat. (ILKHA)
