The repatriation effort was made possible through the collaborative efforts of the Ministry of Reintegration, the Commissioner for Missing Persons, the Joint Center for Control and Coordination (JCCC), the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), various security agencies and departments, as well as international organizations.
Among the fallen soldiers, four had tragically lost their lives while in Russian captivity, primarily due to injuries, illnesses, and insufficient medical treatment.
The Ministry emphasized that the transfer of these fallen soldiers' bodies adhered to the standards outlined in the Geneva Conventions.
The repatriation of these fallen soldiers is a significant step in the process of bringing closure to the families of those who have lost loved ones in the war. It is also a reminder of the ongoing human cost of the conflict, and the need for a swift and peaceful resolution. (ILKHA)
