As the auspicious Eid al-Adha approached, the Hope Caravan Foundation diligently prepared for months to ensure the seamless execution of their sacrifice program. Their primary aim was to deliver the sacrificial offerings generously donated by individuals to those in need. The foundation also provided an opportunity for individuals who wished to delegate their sacrifices to the “Hope Caravan Sacrifice Organization.”
In the early hours of the morning, volunteers from the foundation gathered at designated abattoirs in Sultanbeyli on the Anatolian side and Arnavutköy on the European side of Istanbul. Following the Eid prayer, accompanied by joyful takbirs (proclamations of Allah's greatness) and salawats (praises to the Prophet Muhammad), the volunteers proceeded with the sacrifice rituals.
The atmosphere was filled with compassion and unity as the dedicated volunteers worked together to ensure the successful completion of the sacrifice organization. The selfless efforts of Umut Kervanı and its volunteers served as a testament to the spirit of solidarity and generosity that defines the Eid al-Adha celebration.
“The Hope Caravan Foundation is honored to carry out this blessed duty, ensuring that the sacrificial offerings reach those in need,” expressed Cafer Ökmen, Deputy Chairman of the Hope Caravan Foundation, during an interview with Ilke News Agency. “We prioritize hygiene and work with professional teams to ensure the utmost cleanliness. Our dedicated volunteers form the distribution and preparation teams, generously giving their time and efforts. We are fortunate to have thousands of friends across Turkey who volunteer for this task every year,” Ökmen added.
Ökmen further shared, “Today, our team will fulfill this duty by distributing the sacrificial meat that our brother Şehit Yasin Börü was trying to distribute. Each year, our youth continue to carry out this mission while wearing Yasin Börü's shirts. God willing, it will continue. By delivering the remaining meat today, we hope to conclude this endeavor.”
The atmosphere was permeated with compassion and unity as the selfless volunteers worked harmoniously to ensure the success of the sacrifice organization. Their unwavering dedication exemplified the true spirit of Eid al-Adha, which centers around solidarity and generosity.
Through their tireless efforts, the Hope Caravan Foundation succeeded in bringing joy and relief to the less fortunate during the holy occasion of Eid al-Adha. Their dedication to serving others and fostering a sense of compassion and solidarity epitomized the true essence of the festival. (ILKHA)
