The latest situational report from the NDRRMC reveals that as of Sunday, a total of 19,062 individuals or 5,492 families have sought refuge in 28 designated evacuation centers. Additionally, 1,057 individuals or 300 families have found shelter outside of these centers.
The heightened volcanic activity of Mayon Volcano, categorized as Alert Level 3 due to intensified unrest or magmatic unrest, has impacted a significant population of the Bicol Region. According to the NDRRMC, a total of 38,979 people or 10,123 families residing in 26 barangays within the region have been affected by the volcano's activity.
The good news is that there have been no reported casualties or missing individuals thus far, as confirmed by the NDRRMC. However, authorities continue to closely monitor the situation as efforts persist to ensure the safety and well-being of those affected by the volcanic unrest.
