Zabiullah Mujahid, the spokesperson for the Islamic Emirate, emphasized that they would never allow human trafficking to take place and would deal with any violators according to the law.
“Western countries' propaganda about human trafficking in Afghanistan is baseless. The Islamic Emirate does not allow human trafficking, and anyone involved in this crime will be punished,” Mujahid wrote on Twitter.
“Human trafficking takes place beyond the borders of Afghanistan and preventing it is the responsibility of other countries,” he added.
The annual report by the US Department of State labeled Afghanistan as one of the worst countries globally for human trafficking. However, the Islamic Emirate vehemently rejected these claims, dismissing them as unfounded and propagandistic in nature.
While the US report raises concerns about the issue of human trafficking, the Islamic Emirate asserts that they are not responsible for activities occurring beyond their borders. Their stance indicates a willingness to address any violations that fall under their jurisdiction and enforce legal measures accordingly. (ILKHA)
