One of the incidents occurred in the Kotli district of Pakistan-controlled Kashmir, where a bus accident resulted in the death of nine people, with 18 others sustaining injuries. The unfortunate incident took place in the early hours of Monday when the bus veered off the road and plunged into a deep ravine. The passengers, approximately 35 in number, were returning to Gujranwala city in Pakistan's eastern Punjab province after attending a religious ceremony in Nairian.
In a separate incident in Sheikhupura district, Punjab, a bus overturned while taking a turn at Sheikhupura Motorway, causing four fatalities and leaving 23 people injured. The accident was attributed to excessive speed.
Rescue services swiftly responded to both accidents, promptly arriving at the crash sites and transporting the victims to nearby hospitals for urgent medical attention.
These tragic incidents serve as a poignant reminder of the critical need to prioritize road safety and enforce stricter adherence to traffic regulations. Authorities are expected to launch thorough investigations into the causes of these accidents, aiming to identify factors and implement preventive measures to avert similar incidents in the future.
