Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi and the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, held a phone conversation on Friday to discuss bilateral relations and regional developments, with a specific focus on the situation in Sudan.

During the call, both leaders stressed the importance of addressing the crisis in Sudan and facilitating the delivery of humanitarian aid.

They expressed their commitment to protecting civilians affected by the ongoing clashes. In a joint effort, they agreed to launch an initiative that aims to provide relief and support to the Sudanese people, including refugees.

Ahmed Fahmy, the Presidential Spokesperson of Egypt, announced that the initiative will involve the provision of humanitarian and relief services.

The authorities of both countries will work together to develop an executive framework to ensure the effective implementation of the initiative.
