This new feature aims to provide users with more control over their conversations, allowing them to correct typos or add additional context to their messages.
“From correcting a simple misspelling to adding extra context to a message, we’re excited to bring you more control over your chats. All you need to do is long-press on a sent message and choose ‘Edit’ from the menu for up to fifteen minutes after,” Meta said in a statement.
The edited messages will be labeled with the term "edited," but recipients will not be able to view the edit history.
Meta emphasized that both the original messages and any subsequent edits will be safeguarded by end-to-end encryption.
The feature will be rolled out globally and made accessible to all users in the upcoming weeks. (ILKHA)
