Violent tribal clash leaves 15 dead in northwestern Pakistan

A violent clash between two tribes over the ownership rights of a coal mine in northwestern Pakistan has resulted in the death of at least 15 people, with several others wounded, according to police reports on Tuesday.

The incident occurred in Dara Adam Khel, a district situated in the restive Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province bordering Afghanistan.

Armed individuals from the Sunny Khel and Zarghun Khel tribes engaged in a prolonged exchange of gunfire, triggered by disputes over the mine's boundary.

Local police official Munawar Khan stated that military forces were called in to restore order after the two tribes refused to cease the conflict. (ILKHA)
