Türkiye's overseas missions successfully completed the voting process for the upcoming elections scheduled for May 14.
Since April 27, over 1.8 million eligible citizens cast their votes abroad and at border checkpoints. The voting at border checkpoints will continue until May 14, as confirmed by the Supreme Electoral Commission (YSK) of Türkiye.
The YSK reports a total of 3,416,098 registered voters abroad, with polling stations established in 73 countries.
To ensure security, the voting ballots will be securely transported to Türkiye.
Germany has the highest number of registered voters, with 1,501,152 individuals having already voted. Following closely are France with 397,086 voters and the Netherlands with 268,753 voters.
If necessary, the second round of the presidential elections in Türkiye will take place on May 28, and voting in foreign missions for the second round is scheduled for May 20-24.
It is worth mentioning that as of May 6, the number of voters in foreign missions had exceeded the voter turnout recorded during the 2018 elections. (ILKHA)
