The ministry extended its deepest sympathies to the families of the victims and revealed that the death toll from landmines since the end of the “44-day Patriotic War” in 2020 has reached 54 out of a total of 298 victims.

The statement accused Armenia of placing mines in Azerbaijani territory in violation of the trilateral statement and hindering post-conflict restoration work and the return of internally displaced persons.

The ministry called on the international community to hold Armenia accountable for its breach of international obligations and its policy of deliberately placing mines. (ILKHA)
