In a written statement, the Turkish Foreign Ministry called the remarks "unfortunate" and "incompatible with historical facts and international law."

The ministry emphasized that the events of 1915 should not be defined by politicians' personal agendas and domestic political considerations, and rejected Biden's description of the mass killings of Armenians as genocide.

The ministry also condemned those who persist in this mistake and emphasized that Türkiye does not need to be lectured about its own history.

The ministry also recalled Turkey's proposal for establishing a Joint History Commission with Armenia. (ILKHA)
