Commencing his speech by marking the holy month of Ramadan, Erdoğan, addressing the earthquake victims, assured that they would never put the post-quake relief efforts and the construction of permanent houses on the back burner despite the changing agenda due to the upcoming elections.
“We will determinedly continue the activities to normalize citizens’ life in the quake zone”
Erdoğan said: “We will never forget the pain of our citizens who lost their lives, the sorrow of our people who lost their homes, and the sadness of our cities awaiting to be rehabilitated. We will continue to increase the number of temporary housing areas, which we establish just like fully-fledged cities with their infrastructure and all the other relevant services. We will rapidly continue the construction of permanent houses, for the thousands of which we break ground daily, in such a manner as to complete them within a year as we have promised. We will determinedly continue the activities to normalize the citizens’ life in the quake zone without neglecting any services from education to healthcare.”
Drawing attention to the ongoing efforts to fulfill step by step the promise to not allow any segment, particularly employees and pensioners, to be crushed under inflation, as well as to compensate for their losses, Erdoğan pointed out: “We have not only increased the welfare of every segment in this country without exception and secured their rights and freedoms, but have also removed any kind of discrimination and embraced everyone.”
Erdoğan further stressed that they would uninterruptedly continue to provide projects and services, as well as the reforms aimed at consolidating the country’s democracy after emerging victorious from the elections with the nation’s support. (ILKHA)
