The number of Syrians killed due to the violent earthquake has increased to 3,135 people, as well as the injury of 3,500 others.
Rescue teams are exerting utmost efforts since Monday dawn, attempting to save and rescue the largest possible number of the earthquake victims.
The residents have participated in the rescue efforts to recover people trapped under rubble since no diggers, machineries or rescue teams have been sent to these areas.
“We still hear the cries for help from those trapped under the rubble. Many of our own families and neighbors have not survived. Thousands in Syria are dead. Thousands more are missing. Please help us in our response by donating,” tweeted White Helmets, a volunteer organization that operates in parts of opposition-controlled Syria.
According to local reports, the devastating earthquake also caused total and partial damage to buildings in nearly 100 villages, towns and cities in the middle, north-west and west of Syria. (ILKHA)
