Hamas spokesman Hazem Qassem said that the burning of a copy of the holy Qur’an by an extremist in front of the Turkish embassy in Stockholm was an act of provocation against the Muslim nation and aggression against their religion.

Hazem stressed that such behavior would incite hatred and violence and create an environment for extremism, calling on Sweden to apologize to the Muslim nation for what happened.

The spokesman appealed to the international community to assume its responsibility to stop such reprehensible acts and hold the perpetrators accountable. (ILKHA)
