Two sides discussed bilateral relations between Afghanistan and Russia, regional issues, economic cooperation, and recent developments, according to a statement by Foreign Ministry.
Muttaqi said that Russia had a special place in Afghanistan’s foreign policy and thanked the Russian side for providing all facilities to the Afghan embassy in Moscow.
Muttaqi emphasized that the Afghan government was keen to expand its diplomatic mission in Moscow.
For his part, Kabulov at first expressed his grief over Thursday’s incident at the gate of the Ministry of Foreign of Afghan.
Kabulov said that Russia wanted stability and development in Afghanistan and did not want to criticize Afghanistan and interfere in its internal affairs like Western countries.
Russia does not want Afghanistan to be isolated from the international community, Kabulov added, saying that both countries should make joint efforts in this respect.
Kabulov also underlined that Russia would continue its cooperation with Afghanistan, adding that Afghanistan could play a valuable role in the development of trade between Pakistan, Central Asia, and Russia. (ILKHA)
