The call addressed the Türkiye-Iraq relations and regional issues, the Turkish presidency said in a statement.

Erdoğan voiced his belief that the bilateral and regional cooperation would further strengthen in every area in the period ahead.

Stating that they attached as much importance to Iraq's peace, stability and territorial integrity as those of Türkiye, Erdoğan noted that it was a necessity of Iraq's own national security interests as well to end the PKK terrorist organization's presence in the Iraqi soil. (ILKHA)
