US confirms new ambassador to Russia

The U.S. Senate confirmed Lynne M. Tracy as President Joe Biden's nominee to be ambassador to Russia.

Senators voted 93-2 to confirm veteran diplomat Lynne M. Tracy, who is currently the US ambassador to Armenia, as the new ambassador to Russia.

From 2014 to 2017 Tracy served as the Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy Moscow, Russia.

Tracy received a Distinguished Honor Award for her contribution as Deputy Chief of Mission in Moscow. (ILKHA)
