Director of al-Khalil Awqaf authority Nidhal al-Ja’bari stated that settlers tore and burned copies of the Holy Qur’an and dumped them into a garbage container in a street near the Qaytoun Mosque and the Ibrahimi Mosque in the Old City.
Ja’bari said that such serious settler attack on the Holy Qur’an happened following a series of recent violations committed by groups of settlers against the Ibrahimi Mosque and the Palestinian homes around it.
About a week ago, the Ibrahimi Mosque in al-Khalil City was exposed to serious desecration when hundreds of extremist Jewish settlers held and participated in a boisterous nighttime concert that involved singing, dancing and drinking alcohol.
That settler revelry at the Mosque involved verbal attacks on the Islamic religion, Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) and the Arabs, as well as provocative dances and racist and obscene songs, according to local officials. (ILKHA)
