Organized by ITTUHADUL ULEMA (The Union of Islamic Scholars and Madrasahs) and Saladin Ayyubi Institute, the symposium started with recitation from Holy Quran.
At the symposium moderated by Mullah Muhammed Özer, the Secretary General of İTTİHADUL ULEMA, President of Saladin Ayyubi Institute (SALAH) Mehmet Eşin delivered an opening speech.
Reminding that they had to hold the last two editions of the symposium on social media due to COVID-19 pandemic, Eşin said: “Praise be to Allah that we were able to come together this year. We are also happy to organize the event in Diyarbakir, which has an exceptional place in Islamic history. As you know, Saladin visited this city before the Conquest of Jerusalem, and our mothers and sisters entrusted him with the rose water and oil that they had collected for washing and cleaning Al Aqsa Mosque once it would be liberated from the occupation.”
Eşin thanked the officials of ITTIHADUL ULEMA (The Union of Islamic Scholars and Madrasahs) for hosting the symposium, and noted: “Just as Saladin Ayyubi himself was also an Islamic scholar, his closest men, including İsa Hakkari, were scholars who had been educated in madrasas.”
Following Eşin's opening speech, Osama Hamdan, a senior representative of Hamas in Lebanon, and Fuad Qasim Arafat, who is responsible for the affairs of the Jerusalem prisoners, also made a short speech at the Symposium. (ILKHA)
