Typhoon Noru, which became a super typhoon after a period of explosive intensification with sustained winds increasing to 195km/h, left eight people dead and three others missing, The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council said on Tuesday.
The agency said that five rescuers had been killed following a flash flood while conducting rescue operations in San Miguel, Bulacan, a province north of Manila.
The agency reported a total of 60,817 people affected. A total of 51,811 were evacuated, both before and during the typhoon's onslaught. (ILKHA)
