According to local sources, the clashes started in the village after the ZOF raided some homes, interrogated their residents and confiscated security camera recordings.

The ZOF also intensified its presence around the villages of Rummanah, Zububa and Ti’anik in Jenin.

In al-Khalil, a Palestinian young man was injured in his thigh by live ammunition and many others suffered from the effects of tear gas during skirmishes with the ZOF in Beit Ummar town.

Media activist Mohamed Awad said that the events broke out after israeli soldiers intercepted a funeral procession for a citizen and tried to prevent the mourners from reaching the cemetery at the main entrance of the town to lay him to rest.

Awad pointed out that the ZOF closed the road barrier at the town’s main entrance and deployed a number of soldiers on rooftops of some houses in Asida area during the events.

The ZOF also attacked local youths with tear gas during similar clashes in al-Daher area of the town, the activist added. (ILKHA)
