According to the statement, Ukraine’s forces destroyed 2,122 Russian tanks, 239 aircraft, 211 helicopters, and 4,575 armored carriers.
The statement said that Ukrainian forces had destroyed 1,237 Russian artillery systems.
According to the UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR), more than 5,767 civilians, including hundreds of children, have now been killed or injured in the war in Ukraine.
“Most of the civilian casualties recorded were caused by the use of explosive weapons with a wide impact area, including shelling from heavy artillery and multiple launch rocket systems, and missile and airstrikes,” OHCHR said.
The agency noted that it believes that the actual figures are considerably higher, as the receipt of information from some locations where intense hostilities have been going on has been delayed and many reports are still pending corroboration.
Over 6.9 million people have been internally displaced and over 7 million refugees have been recorded across Europe. (ILKHA)
