In answer to a question about Russian President Putin’s remarks on the grain shipments to Europe, President Erdoğan said: “As you know, there is not grain shipment from Russia at the moment. However, Mr. Putin is right about something. That is; the grain supplies in the shipments are unfortunately going to rich countries, not the poor ones. What is the main theme here? It is to continue grain shipments to poor countries. While the sanctions against Russia are still in place, the fact that grain supplies go to the countries that impose sanctions on Russia upsets Mr. Putin. We want grain shipments from Russia to start. We have such an expectation. There is a delay here. In order to overcome this, we will discuss these issues in detail with President Putin. We hope to start grain shipments from Russia soon, and deliver these grain supplies to truly poor countries.” (ILKHA)
