At least 10 dead as truck crashes at school bus stop in Indonesia

At least ten people, including seven young children, were killed and more than 20 injured when a truck ploughed into a bus stop outside a school in Bekasi, a city located on the eastern border of Jakarta.

The accident occurred at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday when the truck crashed into a bus stop where a group of students were gathering.

At least 23 others, including 14 elementary school students, were injured in the incident and taken to two nearby hospitals for treatment, local officials said.

Police arrested the driver of the truck as part of an investigation, said Latif Usman, Jakarta police traffic director.

The cause of the crash wasn't immediately clear. (ILKHA)
