According to Hebrew media sources, a 17-year-old teenager from Ramallah fled the scene and was arrested following a manhunt.
The israeli police claimed the vehicle that killed the officer was stolen, adding that they were questioning the boy about his motive.
The officer, who was pronounced dead at the scene, had been reportedly standing at a checkpoint that the police had set up following reports of car theft in the area. (ILKHA)
