A police spokesman said the shooting took place in three different spots in Bnei Brak area, east of Tel Aviv.
Footage broadcast by israeli satellite channels showed a young man dressed in black arriving in the area on a motorcycle before walking down a street in Bnei Brak while holding an assault rifle.
According to the Hebrew media, the young man started shooting at apartment balconies and then at people on the street and later at a car before he was fatally shot.
The shooter was identified as Diaa Hamarsha, a 26-year-old ex-detainee from Ya'bad town near Jenin in the occupied West Bank.
Tuesday's operation comes days after two similar incidents in Beersheba and Hadera, which left a total of six zionists killed, including two police officers. All the shooters were killed. (ILKHA)
