In a statement issued late Sunday, the Movement considered the incident as a “heroic operation” and a “natural and legitimate response” to “occupation's crimes against our people and holy sites.”
“We commend the valor and courage of the perpetrators of this heroic operation, which comes as retaliation for the blood of the martyrs, and in response to the aggression and terror of the occupation,” Hamas said in the statement.
The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, for its part, also hailed the shooting as ‘heroic,’ saying it was in response to the Negev Summit “of normalization.”
Islamic Jihad also called the attack “a powerful message from our people against attempts to break our will”.
For its part, the Central Committee of the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine hailed the operation as “a new blow to the Zionist security and intelligence system.”
Earlier Sunday, at least two zionists were killed, and several others were wounded in a shooting attack in al-Hadera, south of 1948 Occupied Palestine.
Hebrew media sources said that police officers were among the casualties.
Five days ago, 5 israelis were killed in a stabbing and car-ramming incident carried out by a Palestinian Bedouin in the Negev.
The attacks are seen as in response to escalated Israeli demolition and repression policy pursued against the Palestinians. (ILKHA)
