The ministry gave the diplomats a 72-hour period to leave the country, the statement said.
The Russian diplomats carried out activities that were incompatible with the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations on the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria, according to the statement.
It also added that Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Vasil Georgiev had presented the respective verbal note to Ambassador Eleonora Mitrofanova. (ILKHA)
