During the call, the latest developments regarding the Russia-Ukraine war and the humanitarian situation on the ground were discussed, the Turkish presidency said in a statement.

Erdoğan pointed out that reaching consensus on some issues may require talks at the level of leaders, reiterating the offer to host Russian President Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenski in Istanbul or Ankara.

Emphasizing that the war will not benefit any side and diplomacy must be given a chance, Erdogan also drew attention to the need to observe the humanitarian situation on the ground and to operate the humanitarian corridors effectively and smoothly in both directions. (ILKHA)
