Hope Caravan Foundation engages in a great deal of charity works such as the construction of mosques and freshwater wells and the delivery of food, clothes, and shoes to the poor across the world.
The foundation distributed food parcels and blankets to the families in Erbil’s Kushtepe town where floods triggered by torrential rains claimed at least 12 lives and caused damages to properties last week.
Speaking to Ilke News Agency, Şahin Elelçi, the representative of the foundation in Diyarbakir, said: “We are now in the Kushtepe town. We have visited the flood-hit areas in the town. The shopkeepers were affected most by the flood. They have experienced financial losses due to the disaster. The houses of many people were destroyed and their belongings became unusable. As Hope Caravan Foundation, we distributed food parcels and blankets to needy families. We are here to alleviate their suffering. We will continue our aid campaign as long as we can. Here we see that everyone is trying to band up the wounds together.”
Elelçi also thanked the philanthropists for their donations. (ILKHA)
