The Palestinian Waqf Islamic affairs council in Jerusalem affirmed that 50,000 worshipers performed Friday prayers at the Mosque.

Since the morning hours, worshipers flocked to Al-Aqsa Mosque despite the Zionist regime’s strict security measures at its gates.

The zionist police stopped worshipers from the West Bank at checkpoints erected at the entrances to the Old City in Jerusalem and allowed only a very small number of them to reach Al-Aqsa Mosque after identity checks.

In the Friday sermon, preacher of Al-Aqsa, Youssef Abu Sneina warned of the serious implications of the israeli ongoing targeting of Occupied Jerusalem, urging its people to remain steadfast.

Palestinians in Occupied Jerusalem are suffering from house demolitions, daily arrests and raids, and attacks on the remains of their beloved in Yusufia cemetery, he said.

“Al-Aqsa is under real danger and we are required to protect its sanctities”, he added. "Al-Aqsa itself is a place of worship for Muslims”.

He concluded by stressing the importance of supporting the hunger striking prisoners in israeli jails. (ILKHA)
