“President Erdoğan had constructive meetings with world leaders on the first day of the G20 summit to address global challenges. He has reiterated Turkey’s commitment to working with other nations to tackle global problems due to the ongoing pandemic,” Altun noted in his post.

Stating that Erdoğan carried out constructive meetings with world leaders during the first day of the G20 Leaders’ Summit, Altun stressed that President Erdoğan reiterated Turkey’s commitment to working with other nations to tackle global problems due to the ongoing novel coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.

“Erdoğan conveyed Turkey’s readiness to do its fair share to address pandemic’s consequences to leaders such as European Commission’s President von Der Leyen, Indonesian President Joko Vidodo, Italian PM Draghi, Dutch PM Rutte," Director of Communications Altun said.

"We have made significant progress in our vaccination program"

Altun recalled that while the global economy was shrinking, the Turkish economy recorded significant growth in the past three-quarters thanks to our President Erdoğan’s leadership, and noted the following:

“Our country has avoided imposing trade barriers and protectionist policies during the pandemic. We have made sure that we continue to help other nations in these historic times by sending some 160 countries medical equipment and other aid. We have made significant progress in our vaccination program which is crucial in keeping our economy open. Turkey has not only made great progress in vaccination but is developing its indigenous vaccine, which will be available to our citizens very soon. G20 countries need to do more to help less-developed nations with their vaccination programs to end the pandemic. President Erdoğan continues to create solutions to global challenges in the most important platforms like G-20. He underlines the importance of cooperation between advanced economies and less developed nations to overcome the problems of our world.” (ILKHA)
