The earthquake took place about 09:17:22 local time (UTC+03:00) 20 km south of Iraklion, according to the EMSC.
“Strong, some old stone buildings had minor damage, with a few stones that fell everyone went outside,” an eyewitness said.
At least 3 aftershocks over 3.5 magnitude have been registered. (ILKHA)
