A rise in general index was realized in CPI (2003=100) on the previous month by 1.12%, on December of the previous year by 11.65%, on same month of the previous year by 19.25% and on the twelve months moving averages basis by 15.78% in August 2021.
Compared to general CPI, lower annual change observed in 7 main groups while 5 main groups were higher
The lowest annual increase was 1.79% in alcoholic beverages and tobacco. Communication with 4.79%, clothing and footwear with 7.47% and education with 10.75%, were the other main groups where lowest annual increases realized.
On the other hand, food and non-alcoholic beverages with 29.00%, furnishings and household equipment with 22.91% and transportation with 21.76% were the main groups where high annual increases realized.
Compared to general CPI, lower monthly change observed in 7 main groups while 5 main groups were higher
The main groups that decrease observed were clothing and footwear with 3.08% and transportation with 0.77%. Alcoholic beverages and tobacco with 0.18%, health with 0.31% and education with 0.58% were the main groups that indicated lowest monthly increase.
On the other hand, food and non-alcoholic beverages with 3.18%, hotels, cafes and restaurants with 2.27%, and furnishings and household equipment with 1.38% were the main groups where high monthly increases realized.
In August 2021, within average prices of 415 items in the index, the average prices of 59 items decreased and the average prices of 49 items remained unchanged while the average prices of 307 items increased.
The indicator for CPI having specified coverage (B) increased by 18.46% annually and 0.74% monthly
A rise in CPI excluding unprocessed food, energy, alcoholic beverages, tobacco and gold was realized in CPI (2003=100) on the previous month by 0.74%, on December of the previous year by 10.98%, on same month of the previous year by 18.46% and on the twelve months moving averages basis by 16.14% in August 2021.
