Turkey reports 23,957 new coronavirus cases, 101 deaths

101 more people have died due to COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, bringing the country’s death toll from the disease to 51,976, Turkey’s Health Minister Fahrettin Koca said in a statement on Friday.

According to the statement, the number of confirmed cases rose to 5,870,741 after 23,957 more people tested positive for COVID-19 over the past 24 hours.

While at least 543 patients are in critical condition, at least 5,491,762 patients suffering from the disease have so far recovered and been discharged from hospital.

More than 69,397,000 tests for coronavirus have so far been conducted to detect infections in the country. (ILKHA)
