The incident took place at around 3:33 p.m. Monday in Wujiang District in the city of Suzhou, local authorities said.
According to local sources, eight people have been rescued, with one dead. Four are in stable condition, and three in critical condition.
Search and rescue efforts are still ongoing to recover missing people.
An investigation has been launched to find out the cause of the collapse. (ILKHA)
